We’re a week out from the biggest party of the year, so now is the time to let you in on our secret Birthday Beer list. We’ve been working super hard to bring you a line-up you will not forget in a hurry.

To keep with the party theme, the first beer we’re going to introduce you to is:

SURPRISE PARTY - PAVLOVA MILKSHAKE IPA

This bad boy is choc full of oats, wheat and lactose fermented with London Fog years. El Dorado hops start adding the fruity layers to this before the Mango, Passionfruit and Strawberries are added creating this tasty treat.

ABV – 6.2%

THE NIGHTMAN COMETH - DESSERT PORTER

No, we haven’t been slacking off around here playing NightCrawlers! This beer has been aged in Bourbon Barrels on vanilla beans (shout out to Woody Barrellson & Barrel Braithwaite). It is a dark, dessert style porter blended with blackberries, blueberries and raspberries to create a sweet finish that cuts against the dry base beer. Laughs are cheap… With this beer, we’re going for gasps.

ABV – 6.8%

DEATH FOG - HAZY PALE

This hazy pale has used a mix of Australian and Kiwi hops. Heaps of wheat and oats give it a soft mouthfeel while the London Fog yeast gives it a haze and loads of fruity esters that compliment the hops.

ABV – 5.5%

ZOO FEEDER - IPA

The Zoo Feeder is back, and we’re hungrier than ever! This was the only beer to win back to back champion IPA awards in 2014 & 2015. We took a classic English style IPA and made it stronger than ever with a heavy American style influence. We’ve bought this IPA back especially for IPA day, so strap those chaff bags on and get ready.

ABV – 7.2%

KVIEK - IPA

This year we had our first Modus Brew Club, and the team wanted to push the envelope with this one. We sourced Bergen Norwegian Kviek Yeast from Bluestone. Our malt came from our friends at Gladfield. This one we’re excited about!

PANGEA - UNFILTERED INTERNATIONAL IPA

A modern international unfiltered IPA – packed to the brim with flavour and aroma. We’ve tried loads of techniques to punch out the hops – first wort hop, bittering, late, whirlpool additions and a warm DH – oh and a cold one too!

ABV - 6.5%

V - BARREL AGED RUSSIAN IMPERIAL STOUT

It’s fitting we decided to make a Stout as our official birthday beer, as Stout is also turning 5 this year. This beer was brewed for our 5th Birthday, hence the name. It’s been barrel aged for months in Woodford Reserve Oak, this imperial stout has been blended to give a smooth, vanilla finish, complimented by the bourbon. At 13.2% this one is a sip and savour.

We’ve worked hard to bring you the best birthday line-up we could, and we couldn’t have done it without a few of our friends.

We’ve been lucky enough to work with local business, The Berry Man and their great range of fruits and purees for a few of these beers. Believe us when we say they’re berry good to work with… And they are better at berries than we are at puns…
